We'll Make it Easy
Renovating your home or planning NDIS modifications can bring up a lot of questions, especially if it’s your first time working with a construction team.
Here are some of the most common questions we’re asked about renovating and upgrading homes, along with clear, practical answers to help you move forward with confidence.
FAQs
What’s the average cost of a renovation in Ballarat?
Costs vary depending on the scope and materials. A small bathroom renovation might start from $10,000, while larger extensions or kitchen remodels can go higher. We provide free quotes with no obligation, and we’re happy to work with staged budgets or funding constraints.
Do you work on heritage homes?
Yes. We’ve done many heritage home renovations from Melbourne to Ballarat and surrounding areas. We’re familiar with planning overlays and work hard to keep the aesthetic consistent while updating for modern living.
Do you travel?
Yes. All over Ballarat and the Western Victoria. We are happy to travel 2-3 hours from Ballarat.
We are currently servicing areas of Ballarat, Bacchus Marsh, Melton and the Western side of Melbourne as well as locations in Western Victoria including Ararat, Beaufort, Stawell, Horsham, Warracknabeal, Donald, Colac, Lismore, Camperdown and Warrnambool. Give us a call to discuss how we can help you!
What makes Maker Constructions different from other home reno companies?
We’re a small, family-run team that focuses on honest advice, quality work and being easy to deal with. We don’t overpromise. We book jobs a few weeks in advance, coordinate all trades and stay on schedule. We also stick with you after the job is done; if something needs tweaking, we’ll come back.
How long will my home renovation project take?
Every job is different, but we’ll give you a clear timeframe upfront. A ramp might take a few days, while a bathroom renovation could take one to two weeks. You’ll know in advance if access will be restricted during works.
Are you an NDIS home modifications provider?
Yes. We’re fully NDIS registered and experienced in working with participants, occupational therapists, case managers and support coordinators. We understand the compliance requirements and help make the process straightforward.
Do you do NDIS bathroom modifications in Ballarat and Western Victoria?
Absolutely. This is one of our most in-demand services. We regularly complete full bathroom conversions, including stepless showers, grab rails, accessible vanities and flooring. Every design is tailored to the needs of the individual, and we work closely with your OT to get it right.
What other kinds of NDIS modifications can you do?
We offer a wide range of home modifications under the NDIS. These include accessible bathroom renovations, stepless showers, custom ramps, handrails, widened doorways, ceiling hoists, grab rails, raised toilets and other mobility support products. If your OT has made recommendations, we’ll work closely with them to bring the plan to life.
How do I get started with a home renovation?
Start by sending us an enquiry. We’ll follow up with a call, arrange a free site measure or quote from your plans, and talk you through the next steps.
